Official MiSTer FPGA project A/V Pro IO Board v9.2. Offering a 24-bit ADV video DAC and a Hi-Fi quality audio DAC, fully assembled and tested, supplied fitted with a standard fan, a premium Noctua low-noise fan, or without a fan.

The MiSTer FPGA AV Pro v9.2 IO board is a modular hybrid design that provides the functionality of the Digital IO board. This modular design allows it to be used as a Digital IO only for a dual SDRAM setup or as an Analog IO with the AV module. When using the AV module, it offers users 24-bit analog video output and crystal-clear stereo audio via an onboard audio DAC. It also includes the following features: a 3.5mm Mini-TOSLINK digital audio connector, a secondary microSD card slot (functionality depends on the core being used), a high and low fan speed control jumper on the underside of the IO board (providing 3.3 volts or 5 volts), three status LEDs (red, yellow, green), and three large push buttons for system reset, on-screen display menu, and game reset. Additionally, it features a User Port connector in the form of a USB 3.0 socket for SNAC and the MT-32 Pi.

Once assembled, each MiSTer FPGA A/V Pro IO board is inspected under a microscope to ensure no solder bridges are present. The completed A/V Pro IO v9.2 board is then fully cleaned in an ultrasonic bath to remove any flux residue left from assembly. After cleaning, the IO board is thoroughly tested on a live MiSTer setup. Each IO board uses high-quality branded components, including Samsung Electro-Mechanics and ADV®

The new A/V Pro IO v9.2 is also compatible with existing Analog IO board based MiSTer cases.

Configuring the A/V Pro v9.2 requires all four of the slide switches on the FPGA development board to be set to the OFF position.

The MiSTer FPGA’s N64 SNAC adapter is a stand-alone Serial Native Accessory Converter (SNAC) adapter that provides a direct interface with the MiSTer Nintendo 64 core. It enables seamless integration with native controllers and accessories, including the Rumble Pak, Controller Pak, Transfer Pak, VRU (Voice Recognition Unit), Keyboard, Mouse, and Microphone.

Seeking a zero input lag gaming experience with the Nintendo 64 core? SNAC delivers precisely that when linked to the MiSTer FPGA’s User Port. This add-on adapter features four controller ports, ensuring top-notch performance for dedicated gamers or speedrunners who demand pinpoint accuracy and responsiveness with original Nintendo 64 controllers and accessories, all without any lag.

Do not combine this dedicated N64 adapter with any other SNAC adapter level shifter board; it is designed as a stand-alone device. For optimal connection, it is advised to use a short male-to-female USB 3.0 extension cable between the N64 adapter and the User Port on the MiSTer.

The MiSTer N64 SNAC adapter only functions with the respective MiSTer N64 core.

The Nintendo 64 SNAC adapter requires a MiSTer Analog IO board v6.1 or Digital IO board v1.2 and newer to function correctly. Additionally, this Nintendo 64 SNAC adapter does support other IO board types providing they have a User IO port.

The MiSTer Laggy v1.3 is a display lag tester created for evaluating display responsiveness. Specifically designed for use with the MiSTer FPGA, paired with an IO board featuring a User Port.

The MiSTer Laggy is a display latency tester designed for use with the MiSTer FPGA system. Comprising of a dedicated core running on the MiSTer FPGA and the hardware sensor connected to the MiSTer’s User Port via a USB type A to type C cable.

MiSTer Laggy measures the time between when a frame is sent to the display device and when that frame is displayed, operating on a similar principle to the ‘Time Sleuth’ lag testing device, it utilises the MiSTer platform to generate the video signal and record measurements.

Display latency is of significant importance in retro gaming as OLED and LCD displays incorporate sophisticated video processing pipelines, potentially leading to elevated latency. Display manufacturers often do not provide informative latency metrics, and the performance of a specific display may fluctuate based on applied settings, as well as the input signal’s resolution and refresh rate.

Martin Donlon is the developer of this project, the project GitHub contains all the information on setup and basic operation.

The MiSTer Laggy hardware only functions with the respective MiSTer Laggy core located inside the Utility folder from the MiSTer main menu.

The MiSTer Laggy requires a MiSTer Analog IO board v6.1 or Digital IO board v1.2 and newer to function correctly. Additionally, this addon lag tester does support other IO board types providing they have a User IO port.

The PlayStation SNAC adapter allows for the connection of original PlayStation console accessories to be used with the MiSTer FPGA PSX core.

The PSX SNAC adapter for MiSTer FPGA, this stand-alone Serial Native Accessory Converter (SNAC) adapter provides a direct interface with the MiSTer PlayStation core using native accessories such as controllers with rumble, light guns, Namco NeGcon & Jogcon etc.

This dedicated adapter is a stand-alone device and should not be used in conjunction with any other type of SNAC adapter level shifter board. The recommended connection setup is using a short male to female USB 3.0 extension cable between the PSX adapter and the User Port on the MiSTer IO board.

Looking for a zero input lag gaming experience with the PlayStation core? Well SNAC provides this when connected to the MiSTer FPGA’s User Port. This addon provides two ports for controllers and a composite port (RCA female jack) for light guns. Offering one of the best experiences for serious gamers or speed runners who require precise and accurate gameplay using original PSX controllers and accessories without lag.

The PSX SNAC adapter even works with light guns however a CRT screen is required when using original light guns, such as the Sony PlayStation GunCon (G-Con 45) or Sony PlayStation Hyper Blaster.

The MiSTer PlayStation SNAC adapter only functions with the respective MiSTer PlayStation core.

The PSX SNAC adapter requires a MiSTer Analog IO board v6.1 or Digital IO board v1.2 and newer to function correctly. Additionally, this PlayStation SNAC adapter does support other IO board types providing they have a User IO port.

A big thank you goes out to Jonathan Dagnillo of Dinierto Designs for creating the PSX SNAC Adapter Shell for MiSTer FPGA, upon which this redesigned case is based.
